Specifically designed for those consumers who participate in IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) competitions, the 92X Performance Defensive maintains the same ergonomic design and controls as the popular 92X Performance Production platform with new enhanced features such as a lightened steel frame and slide, a red-dot optic ready slide, and aggressively textured 92X-style thin grips for instinctive control. Compliant with the 3 most shot IDPA Divisions (SSP, ESP, CO), the 92X Performance Defensive provides an uncompromising performance aimed at earning you a spot at the top of the podium with power, speed, and accuracy. Cycle speed is enhanced with the skeletonized hammer and competition hammer spring. An Extreme-S trigger mechanism provides a smooth trigger press and decreases trigger reset by up to 40%. The striker automatic safety latch remains active unless the trigger is pressed for additional safety in case the pistol were to fall. The frame mounted thumb safety is ambidextrous and profiled for the thumb to rest on while shooting. The slide stop lever has a lower profile to keep clear of the thumb when the safety has been disengaged. A Match take down lever has been added to act as a "gas pedal" for the support hand thumb. An adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front sight give an excellent sight picture when engaging targets during fast moving stages. The 92X Performance has an attractive dual tone appearance with a Nistan finish on the slide and frame and a black burnished barrel.
